About the Team
The Ithaca College Women’s Rugby Club (also known as the Renegades) formed in 1995. The Renegades initially played at the Division III level, but are now part of Division II. Renegades Rugby is among the more tenured and accomplished clubs in the program. As a member of the New York State Rugby Conference, the Renegades have competed at the championship level in several divisions and regularly compete against the region’s strongest teams.
Because this is a club team, the commitment level isn't as intense as it is for varsity sports. Throughout the fall and spring seasons, practices are held five days a week for two hours (players are required to attend three of the five practices). All women are welcome to sign up for the team -- no prior experience is required! You'll learn everything you need to know from the very helpful and willing coach, David "Rock" Sanders, and veteran ruggers.
